Fenn Cup Race 1 - Video

Only 2 outriggers in the race, predominantly ocean ski but high class field of ocean paddlers.

A very close finish with Jeremy cotter just pipping Tim Jacobs on the run up too the line with Shannon Eckstein 3rd and in the womens race Hayley Bateup proved too strong for Former Molokai Champ Jasmin Kelly with 2 time Olympian Yander Nossiter 3rd.

Enjoyed myself immensely shooting this video, very challenging.

Cheers Rambo

Need an escort for men?s channel?

As of Monday night, one of our 4 crews has opted out of the men?s channel leaving the escort boat without a crew to escort. His name is Jeff Muir and has a 26? yellow fin. Never really got to meet the guy other than speaking to him on the phone, but he knows what he is doing and would be a great pick up for a crew looking for an escort.

I do not know his phone number, but I do have his e-mail ( sorry Jeff if I gave out your e-mail );

The NaWahine from Purgatory-based on a true story

I would like to give 12 thumbs up to my senior masters crew who took second place by a very close margin after enduring the most radically trying race weekend in recent history. Broken canoe trailer, broken rental car, overbooked hotel rooms, being relocated waaaaaaaaaaaay outa town, escort boat started the race with one broken engine and the other one broke down mid channel. Keoni Miyake was the first escort boat to deviate from Kukuiula's course to inform us "eh Laola your escort stay broke!!!" Shortly after that Lisa Curry's luggage boat came over and threw us some water.

Politics...

I am a fairly novice paddler and have noticed that the paddling associations/clubs seem to be loaded with politics that deprive paddlers from being involved in all races available and getting the full potential experience...example some clubs will not participate in other clubs sponsored races and so forth…and was throwing this topic out there to see how we can work together to eliminate and better this sport...please refrain from naming clubs and individuals

October 18th: Race around Manhattan

On October 18th, Ray Fusco will organize the Mayor's Cup in New York. This long distance (45km) and challenging race around Manhattan is for Kayaks, Surfski and Outrigger Canoes. I wonder, who will join me in the OC1 division?

COSTS FOR MOLOKAI

So i was just wondering about what the 550 per crew goes towards ???? i know that the sponsors used to take care of most of the costs of the boats and all of that. with the crews paying for their own shipping, i think that we might need to recalculate how much it actually costs. at this rate next year will be 650, 750, 850........
