I'm looking for new off water training methods for cardio, core and strength training. I'm currently doing circuit training for the core, skipping rope and wind sprints for cardio, different types of push-ups and rotating light wieght(75-100 pounds) squats and dead lifts.for strength. Its been working realy well, but Im starting to get a little bored with the excersises. Do any of you know of a training regimin that I can do in my backyard that might help me get back some enthusiasm towards traing?
How do I go about getting a sponsored race together for the Olympia area? I was thinking Olympia to Boston Harbor and back, approx. 12-14 miles. Do I need a club backing or just ACA? I thought this would be a great way to bring attention to OC paddling in the South Sound area. Plus its a great course.
Thanks to all for great advice. As recommended I drank hard the night before...
Actually the race went very well and I managed a 3rd place, had a blast, met some really cool people, and am already looking forward to my next chance to race.
If anyone is in striking distance of Florida, there's a small but growing scene here that is something to tap into. Hopefully it will continue to grow and bring more people into this sport. If you're considering, March 8th is another OC-1 race in Clearwater. Check out http://www.kanaluimiami.com/files/Schedule_Vers_2.htm
According to a german government report released last tuesday, the amount of beer sold in Germany fell to the lowest since 1993- dropping 2.7% last year to 22 billion pints. For last years decline the German Brewers Assn. blamed a rainy summer, noting that foul weather dampens the mood for lifting a stein on a summer evening.
For the country's remaining beer drinkers there's more scary news: Beer is getting more expensive! 74 cent's more per case, the outrage, the shame.
Germany trails now the Czech Republic for the top spot in per capita consumption. The Fatherland is falling apart. Eckhart we must take charge.
This a good time to volunteer. International solidarity is mandatory.
I can't do it all by myself.
I have been playing around with the iako length on my Huki V1-X. What is a good (best, if there is such a thing) all around distance to put the ama out on? I brought in pretty close before a pretty flat paddle today up at Zuma and was suprised at how deep the ama seemed to ride.
