When my wife and I purchased our Huki V2-X, we wanted to be able to use kayak paddles as well as canoe paddles, so Jude created a custom large-hoop front iako that allows us to paddle it using whichever method we choose. Now having purchased a Scorpius XS, I wanted to have the same dual-propulsion capability, but I found that the ama was a bit too close to allow a solid paddle stroke using a wing paddle. Not to worry; Chris Harper came to the rescue by creating a set of custom aluminum iakos 7” longer than stock, giving me plenty of room to flail away with my wing paddle.

Has anyone heard about the Venom? A new V1 that Viper Va'a will manufacture? I searched on the web for more information, but everything I got was this picture (in attachment) posted by a local dealer on Facebook.

I would like to see more pictures and to have some reviews.

I have a mudbrook xp that the finish is nearly gone from the shaft. Since it hasnt been used for a couple months, I thought it is probably dry enough to re-finish. After a light sanding, what is the material best to recoat the surface with.

The Santa Fe Surf Club in New Mexico has a 6-man malia canoe that needs some TLC. In particular, the wooden gunnels need re-glassed. They have been sanded down to bear wood and we are poised to buy a product to apply. Problem is, none of us has much experience in fiberglass work! One of our team members suggested we look for an epoxy product that has the glass fibers suspended in it. Any advice out there for some land-locked, desperate and displaced outrigger canoe paddlers?

Does anyone have any information about the Gator OC1? I couldn't find any info about it. Thank you

I just broke my steering paddle for an OC4.
Here in the Canary Islands, there is no market so it's very complicated to find gear.
At the moment, we will build a wooden one. hopefully it's not too heavy and strong enough.
Just in case, do you know any brand to whom I could order a STEERING paddle for OC4 surfing?
any tips or size advice?
Is carbon the best?
