Pacific 24 OC-1

Hi. I just purchased a used Pacific 24 OC-1. I have no clue where and when they came out and any history of stories of it.
It's a Cadillac of a flat water for practice with a Kialoa-Teva Hoe I recently purchased. I can't wait to kill myself on it but, training hard it all good.
Anybody know about a Pacific 24?
Thanks for reading and wish you enjoy this summer !

Custom truck racks

I searched old topics and found contact info for custom truck racks. Anyone know if these guys still make them on Oahu? Looking to get an ez on/off system.

Storing OC1 properly

OC1: Naia (Fiberglass/Polyester resin)

Garage: about a foot too short, and is the only option at this time to house the canoe safely

Question: if I were to angle the OC1 on the side of a wall, in order to fit it in the garage, would this affect the structure of the canoe? I'm technically not sure why, but I thought this might be a concern, and then when I mentioned it to a friend, he asked me the same question. My alternate plan is to hang it from the ceiling, diagonally, but I'd prefer not to do that.

Garmin GPS or GPS enabled smart phone

Just had my last Garmin 305 go out on me. That is three of those in five years and do not want to purchase another one. Was wondering if anyone has used a speed/distance app for their GPS enabled iphone or android based phones (of course using a water proof housing) instead of the Garmin "soon to die after warranty" GPS receivers.? Seems that having a protected phone on board that has many of Garmin's features makes sense from a safety stand point as well as providing the same training feedback that the Garmins provide. i.e...speed, distance, pace, etc. mahalo for any feedback.

Prone paddleboard wanted

Looking for a used, or new, prone paddleboard appropriate for a 225 lb paddler. It appears that most of the production made boards are for people a bit lighter than me.

Seeking advice to repair paint chipping off on a FUZE OC-1

Just bought an outrigger-connection (FUZE) OC-1 used. First time some of the paint near the stern (upper deck) chipped off. Section is about 5"x3". I have questions as to how to "patch" the section without having to repaint the whole boat.
On a fiberglass boat I know what to do (sand, patch/fill if necessary, prime and paint with marine paint), however the Fuze is a kevlar-graphite composite and paint is a gelcoat paint.
I am guessing the proper procedure would be:
1. Remove any loose paint with a knife
2. Sand edges of the pain and about 1" beyond the damage

OC1 Recommendation

Aloha, OC 'Ohana. I've been paddling for a while, and am about to purchase my first OC1. I have raced a Hurricane and Huki, and have preferred the Hurricane. Does anyone have recommendation on a "all-around" OC1 that would suit a 185-195 lb paddler? I would use this for racing, recreation, flat and open water. I realize that there's a larger predecessor of the Hurricane known as Storm, but that OC1 seems a bit bulky? Any suggestions of other OC1's out there?

Mahalo for reading and any advice is welcome.

New Scorpius XS

We picked up our new Scorpius XS just over a week ago, and I managed to get one paddle in before heading back up to the frozen Midwestern USA. I was very impressed with the boat overall; it's hard to believe how light and stiff this boat is! The ergonomics are excellent; it's a very comfortable boat to paddle. I've only paddled it for 40 minutes or so on flat-water, but I was impressed by the effortless cruise (the hull seems to be very efficient) and re quick reaction to rudder inputs (also the excellent stability).

Arizona Team- OC6 shopping

Entertaining offers on your gently used OC6. Would prefer a Mirage or Bradley Lightning. Email me if you've got something for sale. Thanks!
