HVA Kailua Bay Blitz

Aloha Gang,

Due to issues with permitting at Waimea Bay we have moved the 3rd race in the HVA Summer Series to Kailua Bay. The race date has also changed. We will be holding the race on Saturday July 17th. Please see the attached map for the race course. Registration will be up shortly so be sure to check back.

The new course should be a blast with some upwind and a fun surfing segment. Hope to see you all there!

HVA Wild West Shootout

Aloha gang... just a reminder Race#2 in the HVA summer series is just two weeks away. In an effort to bring paddling to all sides of Oahu we will be hosting the Wild West Shootout. Be sure to come out and participate in the first all V-1 paddling event on the Leeward Coast of Oahu.

Kia Kaha Canoes & Paddles Affected By Warehouse Fire on Kauai

Kia Kaha Canoes and Paddles was one of the three businesses completely wiped-out in last week’s fire that destroyed a 13,000-square-foot warehouse in Puhi, Kauai. Kia Kaha’s production and design workshop was located in the warehouse. Kauai County officials estimated the damage to the building and the businesses to be in the millions.

Our hat's off to Manny and his crew for are making 'Eono Hoe happen this year!

It has been great to talk story about so many new twists this format has brought about: race strategies, how to pick a crew, different designs in canoes, and training. There are so many variables and everyone has their own, good ideas. One thing's for sure- this year, the chase boat support crew will play a much bigger role in the success of a team's results.
