Tahitian V6 in Hawaii

Aloha,
Just checking to see if anyone wants a Tahitian V6 in Hawaii. I know in the past some top Hawaii crews have mentioned it would be nice to have one here to train in for Hawaiki Nui and it could also be fun for Pa'a 'E Ono or other Iron races. Anyways, I have a container of V1's and V3's coming from Tahiti and there is room for a V6 if someone wants one. I'll be in Tahiti from oct 23rd thru nov. 21st.

Found Paddle

As one of the Medical boats responding to Lukes incident, we found a paddle. I originally thought it belong to their crew. May belong to Hui O Mana Ka Pu'uwai? Just shoot me a message and we will figure out someway to get it back to you.
Aloha, Craig.

Shell Vaa

No question Shell Vaa paddled one hell of a race. Impressive is putting it mildly. Congratulations to the Tahitians and all paddlers who competed.
We will never know for certain what might have been, but how was Primo doing and feeling when one of their paddlers
was injured?

Safety aspects of changes races

Firstly, get well soon Luke. No doubt you'll be back on the water ASAP & bigger & better than ever!
Secondly, as a far away observer (Australia) I find it amazing that propeller injuries are occurring in paddling's most famous race. Here, it is the number 1 rule in changes racing - the motor must be in neutral (propeller stationary) before paddlers can approach a support boat from the water. Just curious but is this not the case in Hawaii or were the injuries caused by impact with the stationary prop? Do the safety aspects of the race need to be reviewed?

Dropped Makana Alii paddle mid way through Ka'iwi Channel

Dropped Makana Alii paddle in middle of Ka'iwi Channel during Molokai Hoe race. The paddle is a 51 with red trims and has name writting on the handle.

mahalo for looking!

Prayers Out to Luke Evslin...

Aloha everyone,

If you haven't heard, one of our own in our paddling community, Luke Evslin, was severely injured while making the first change off of La'au Point. He was severely propped and incurred injuries that he stated if it was an inch higher or lower from initial area of injury would have been fatal. Spoke with Luke and he mentioned that he just got out of surgery and is doing fine over at Maui Memorial.

Also, even though we may make risky decisions during moments of competition, SAFETY is the number #1 priority. Prayers are out to Luke for a effective and speedy recovery!
