I always wanted to know what they are, when they are applied and why ?

The 20 Beaches Classic is the premiere surf ski race of the Aussie Ocean Racing Series. Run from Manly to Palm beach or reverse it usually attracts a huge field including many Olympic paddlers and internationals.

Pat Dolan, Lauren Bartlett and Oscar Chalupsky also paddled this race, hence my reason for posting it here for those interested.

These guys chase down some nice runs in the second half of the video when the wind comes up.

This wahine is one hell of an outstanding young athlete, paddler and mom. How devastating the news, but wow, she got medical attention right away before anything worse happened. Imagine training at her elite level all these years, and only recently finding this out:

Posted this to the Calendar section as well. Just want to get the word out to everyone about HVA's first official fundraising effort. All proceeds will go towards offsetting travel expenses for the Development Program's trip to participate in Hawaiki Nui 2010.
