"I Love My Paddler"

What better way to say "I Love My Paddler" on Valentine's Day 2010 than with an Official OHCRA Moloka'i Hoe and/or Na Wahine O Ke Kai Moloka'i to O'ahu padding pic giftie. A vast selection of incredible shots, just right for that special Waterman or Waterwoman in your life, and all profits go right back to each sponsoring race organization too!

King of the Coast - SUP, Ski, OC1 - Video

Sunshine Coast Paddlers have not had an all craft downwind Ocean race since the Point To Point race in the late '90s. Put together by Kirk Jarrott and Shane Dalziel in just under 4 weeks, it drew paddlers from as far a way as NSW. When the paddling community come together like this it's awesome, what a fun race.

ILH Canoe Racing

Read an article by Ron Mizutani saying that the DLNR was changing the finish line from the mouth of Ala Wai harbor to offshore of Aina Moana. It's a stretch to view these races from the seawall let alone trying to see how they finish. I clearly remember the Coast guard finish being inside the harbor. Where's the love Laura ?

Video of the week.

This video made my night!!!

I know this has nothing to do with paddling canoe, racing, or anything like that but it does feature the talented and legendary steersman Stew "Balls" Kawakami from Outrigger Canoe Club. Therefore, I thought it appropriate to share it with this community. So if you have not seen it before, please enjoy!!!

Balls: Sorry brah if you neva like people see this video, but yooz one funny guy brah!!! No can hide this stuff brah, gotta share!!!

Putting In From The Hamakua Coast

Has anyone (of you folks) ever put an OC-1 in from the Hamakua coast past Onomea for a run back to Hilo Bay? Lapahoehoe would be a pretty long paddle, but could be done. I wonder if anyone has launched from Hakalau, Kole Kole, or Papaikou? If so, how'd it go? How was your run?
