Your presence will make a huge difference to stop Shark Tours from occurring in these waters. This issue directly effects all the paddlers and community who care, train and race Maunalua Bay, and the surrounding waters.

Surfers, fishermen, boaters, kayakers, stand up paddlers, swimmers and Hawai’i canoe clubs, all use the waters of Maunalua and Ka Iwi.

This Shark Tour operation is in direct line of where many Distance paddlers train and race throughout the paddling season.

The waters of Ka Iwi and Maunalua are part of The Molokai Hoe World Championship Canoe Race, The Na Wahine O Ke Kai World Championship Canoe Race, The Steinlarger Solo OC1 World Championship, The Starbuck Ka Iwi Channel Relay, The Quicksilver Moloka’i to O’ahu Paddleboard Race and The Kanaka Ikaika Canoe Kayak Race.

If you paddle for a canoe club, please wear your club shirt to the meeting.

for more information email: maunalua@gmail.com, also please view a recent news article from KHON

Please forward to all who are effected.

Mahalo.

Looking to share a flat rack for shipping to Maui for the Olukai race.

I am looking for people from Oahu who plan on racing in the Olukai race May 17th on Maui. I want to ship my canoe and understand it is cheaper to share a flat rack from YB.

shark feeding business in maunalua bay

in case you didnt know this..there is a man going to start a business taking people to see shark feeding 3 miles outside portlock.just like the business on the north shore.. because he is in federal waters, no permit is needed.ive heard he has been chumming the waters for over a month already. my question is..he says this is educational, so why feed? see what comes by when you put the cage in the water.the boat and cage are moored in hawaii kai already.
there is going to be a meeting on thursday 4/16 at 7:00p at kamiloiki school. please come. we need to show that we ocean users dont want this.or if you are in favor, lets hear why.

Down Wind Video

The last three weeks here have been full on non stop downwind runs every day. Maliko, Fleming, Makena, Keanae. Rained today so we finally got a day off. Video is dedicated to one of my first coaches, Allen Abad, who just passed away. He'll be in my thoughts every time I get into a canoe.
