The most exciting race of the year..... Maliko

Nobody can blame on variables this year! I wouldn't say the best conditions, but interesting! That's what is going to make this Maliko so exciting, and all the O'ahu paddlers that are coming! Mens division gonna be crazy!!! Kai, Danny Ching, Mael, all the Maui guys that knows that run very well....., and the O'ahu guys that are training hard! Can't wait 'til saturday!!!
Good race for all =)

PA'A Pinky's Race

I did part of the race course yesterday and am currently looking down on the bay. Wave height is supposed to increase by 2 feet from yesterday until Sunday, wind direction is predicted East, and wind speed mid to high 20ies.

I think having a leach ( spelling ? ) for Sunday is a good idea.

For those who do not paddle in Kailua Bay often:
Returning into Pinki's canal:
Coming form Flat Island you enter at a relatively shallow angle right to left through the break zone, trying to get in between sets.
Coming from Bird.... with large waves I try to stay a little - 60 - 70 yards - to the left of the rocks in the break zone, then turn right sharply towards the entry of the canal, because it gets shallow straight ahead, 1 - 2 feet.

This is NOT the Outrigger version focusing on Karel Jr, that is still to come , however he is in this Video as well.
