You know it is a big ocean out there that can accommodate most of us paddlers, and it surely would be nice if those unregistered paddlers would please pull away early from the finish line and let the registered paddlers finish on their own. It just makes the timer and spotter jobs more difficult and delays the results. Of course you can paddle along side your friends out in the ocean, but please stay clear of the finish line.

Austin Crisologo, a great person (and paddler) passed away this past weekend in an oc2 accident in the San Francisco area.

Austin and his paddling partner huli'ed and could not recover. Unfortunately, Austin passed away.
His friend was airlifted to a hospital with hypothermia and is now home recovering. Reports are saying the water was 54 degrees and the paddlers were in the water for approximately 30 minutes.

I would love to hear from those people who have small cars, like a honda civic etc that put a oc-1 on top. What works, what doesn't. pictures that show the rig set up....

Eckhart mentioned an announcement was imminent from Outrigger Connection regarding a new canoe for 2009. Was this a joke or are they actually working on a new canoe? If so, does anything have any new info on it?

Sometimes you see older paddles without a T-grip.

If anyone remembers using them: are the T-grips better in all regards or are certain things that were better without T-grip ?
