Pa'a thanksgiving race

That was a sick race, and Manny and the PA'A crew did a hell of a job putting on a fun event in macking conditions. The run from Bird back to the canal was nuts! I felt like I was going over the falls in a barrel on some of those sets the drops were so long and steep... just when I would start to think I was pretty awesome for pulling off some mean waves, one would jack up and unload a big whitewater right next to me and I would just shit myself.

Looking for list of ocean/outrigger canoe marathons (30+ miles)

Hello, I'm a canoe/kayak marathon racer that is crossing over into ocean canoeing. I was wondering if anyone can provide a list of ocean canoe marathons in North America, and perhaps Hawaii & the Caribbean too. Below are the types of ocean races I'm looking for:

  • Long distance races: 30+ miles (max of 500 miles).
  • Events that host larger ocean canoes (OC4 to OC12 or larger).

If anyone has any suggestions for long races/marathons please respond.

Cheers,

Joseph

Pa'a Eono Hoe - how many days?

Does anyone know if the Pa'a Eono Hoe OC6 iron race is going to be only one day next year (2012)? i thought Manny was going to add a day and make it a three day race. The most recent Pa'a schedule shows it to be just one day.

Lost Makana Ali'i - @ Kaimana

Aloha everyone -

Lost my Makana Ali'i paddle this Sunday (11/06) at Kaimana. Paddle was last seen next to the water fountain/wash area.

Left Kaimana between 11 and 12, unfortunately the paddle didn't make it the truck.

Paddle is 50' straight shaft with a Hawaiian flag in the paddle graphic. It also has a white Makana Ali'i sticker on the power face, and my initials - "MKC" above the Hawaiian flag graphic and on the shaft near the t-top.

I saw a lot of paddlers coming in and washing canoes when I left, hope one of you grabbed it :)
