Race 2 of Hobie Series at Treasure Island, Florida

Race 2 of Series 2 was held Sunday in exquisite Florida conditions. Entries (30) were slightly down but this was expected as many folks were spending the Thanksgiving weekend away with family, Florida basked in 80 deg weather while snow was falling up North !

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Shoot

On Thursday, November 24 the 5th Annual Turkey Shoot brought together 64 paddlers in 42 boats - everything from OC-6’s to OC-1's and OC-2’s to stand up paddle boards and rudderless canoes. Each paddler paid their entry fee in canned goods and over 350 pounds of canned meat and vegetables and other non-perishables were dropped off to fellow paddler and firefighter Kawika Williams at the Kihei Fire Station for distribution to the Maui Food Bank.

Ho’ilo Ocean Challenge and Poipu Beach Surfing Canoe Meet

After much talk about having an ocean multi sport event, ideas were finally put into action and the verdict is in . . . the event was a HUGE SUCCESS! The day’s events included an ocean triathlon, a 4 man regatta and a canoe surfing contest.

SoCal season starts at La Jolla race - Nov 12th

Hawaii's Patrick Dolan and Brandon Woods while at a national team training camp at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego took part in Surf Ski/OC1 race in La Jolla placing 1st and 2nd.

SeaMan pre-season race at Keauhou Bay - BigIsland

Pre-season HIPA "introductory" race which took place at Keauhou Bay.
Begun in 1998 as a pre-season warmup by the late Abbott Galaher, entry fees have always included canned goods for the Hawaii Island Food Bank.

October 29th started with the first feel of fall and provided us all with 15 knot North Easterly wind and lower temperatures than usual. The fleet got off to a great start at 10 am heading 1 mile upwind.
