Sunset Beach to Haleiwa (approximately 8 miles)

Cost: $ 30.00 per person (includes shirt lunch and awards)

OC-1: Men/Women (19 and under, 20 - 29, 30 - 39, 40 - 49, 50 - 59, and Kupuna)

Top three men/women OC-1 finishers will fall into open divisions

Rudderless: Men/Women

OC-2: Men/Women/Mixed

Surfski: Men/Women

Standup Paddleboard (12'6 / 14 / 16') Men/Women

Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the Manu O Ke Kai Canoe Club site

I'll be visiting Kauai August 16th-23rd and would love to get out for a paddle or club practice. Any suggestions are highly appreciated!

Any recommendations for an inexpensive video camera that can be used for practices, technique critique? Should be waterproof/resistant, good slow mo/stop, some zoom capability, able to be slaved to a laptop, etc. for instant viewing at practice site etc. I've heard mention of a new, inexpensive Kodak camera, I just got a GoPro. Not looking for great downloadable quality...just personal/team use.

Wouldn’t be nice if our sport was on the mainstream, and just like Formula 1, we could all watch the main Tahitian races on TV and/or web?

Since Rene Avaepi has been hired as the OPT coach, the sport is reaching new competition levels in Tahiti, hence Worldwide. Last year, OPT broke the 4 year Shell dominance in the Hawaiki Nui Va’a, and during the 2010 season they have already won 3 out of 4 major V6 races.

I just got the "laird" headphones a couple weeks ago and they are incredible! Except that they died out after getting wet a couple of times. I called them and they are sending me another set so im stoked on the quick response from them and no hassles about a replacement. Just curious if anyone else has used these and what their experience was with them??

I forgot my paddle (mana blade), iako and seat (pegasus) at Sand Island after paddling last night (Tuesday, July 13). I'm pretty sure I left them on a tire between Keahiakahoe and New Hope sites. I'm really hoping that a nice paddler picked 'em up (not one of the chronics in the bushes). Please private message me if you found my stuff!
