Mechanical Bailing - Hawaii

I have a general question for paddlers in Hawaii. I've heard that there is a rule against "mechanical bailing" in races. What exactly constitutes mechanical bailing? Lets say, hypothetically, that someone crafted a device that was entirely person-operated, but isn't a bailer per se. No batteries or external power source though. Would this be mechanical?

Stingray 1 VS Hurricane OC-1

Any ideas out there on which OC-1 is better?

More stable?

Faster?

Iron man races - how to ?

How do you race an OC 6 iron man race ? Let's say 15 miles distance.

All out until you fade ?
Warm up first half, power second half ?

Kailua Iron Race Results?

Anybody know what the final results were? I know Outrigger won, but what about the rest of the crews?

Surfing Lake Whatcom

This is what we do when there is no waves to surf.

How do I change my signature

Whenenver I reply to a post it gets this long, boring signature attached, even if I delete the one that gets automatically stuffed in the reply box. How do I clean that up? I tried the Profile but there's nothing there.

Asymmetric Hull

So Ive been wondering........
Imagine a hull that was designed fuller on the right (reserve buoyancy for stability) and designed to ride at a (just guessing at this point) 10 degree cant/lean to the right side. In other words it would be designed to actually ride with stability (relatively speaking) with the ama out of the water. Not being much of an OC1 paddler and especially a bump rider, what do those who are good on the OC1 think of a canoe hull that would.....in theory......give a more stable ride with the ama out?

groin injuries

I have had this groin injury for about a year and a half, it has not healed. I quit playing soccer and stuck to paddling but i seem to still have it. I have seen many doctors and they all tell me the same thing, REST!
So i rested for maybe a month or 2 but i cant sit still for long. I recently did a long downhill run and had to stop 3 times because of the pain around my groin.
WHAT DO I DO?!
I dont want to stop paddling.
should i lift light weights?
help please...

whos the team to beat in the womens molokai this year?

im not too up on the foriegn crews as well as any "all star" crews which may be competing but my monies on the girls from the waikiki beach boys. their training regimine is unsurpassed and their coach Sean Monahan is a great coach, able to both communicate with and teach great techniques to his wahine paddlers. i really hope they pull it off this year, it would be great to see a team from Hui Wa'a take it for a change. what does everyone else think?
