Shark Attack

On a serious note. This morning a triathlete taking part in a group training session off of Solana Beach in San Diego was killed by a shark. Condolances to his relatives and all involved.
Man, are we going to be nervous practicing 9man changes. Its a big ocean out there.

You're doing a 1 hour paddle.......

What songs would you have on your ipod for that 1 hour?

Stingray vs. Zephyr?

I just can't decide which one to buy. The Zephyr is way newer, but that Stingray just looks so damn fast! I know everyone always says, "it's the motor" so I checked it out...
...the 1970 427 small block LT-1 in the Stingray put out 370 hp, and the 2006 Zephyr borrows a Duratec V6 from the Mazda 6, (??) which puts out 221 hp. Now, I know that the Stingray's output was measured in SAE GROSS, rather than SAE NET horsepower, but 221 vs. 370? I think that the choice is obvious.

The Zephyr DOES have heated seats though, which feels nice on my butt...

If it helps any, I'll be using these to race the 1/4 mile.

...also, when I said "butt", I meant "ass".

OC6: Standard or Low Shoulder paddle?

What do you think? My uneducated thoughts say that the standard shape will pull more water and the low shoulder travel faster through the stroke. I sit #2. Coach is demanding all wood paddles (no artificial edges) for racing in the Koa canoe so I'm shopping. My hybrid paddle is a Xylo and I like the thick but light shaft. Any recommendations?
