hurricane rudder "cable" replacement

Ii am looking for a description of the basic change out of the Hurricane steering "cable". My big issue is the final step in aligning the pedals at the right depth and the "cable" tie-off. Is there anyone proficient in this skill willing to provide information?

Best Boat For A Maliko Run

I'am new to this sport and would like to know what would be the best boat for Maui's Maliko Run ? ANY IDEAS

Boat, Paddler or training?

It seems like every year at least one new boat comes out and the common question seems to be is it faster. It's kind of hard to tell with the guys who are always winning like Kai, Karel, Manny and Danny. So lets take them out of the equation cause lets face it they're gonna win on anything. What paddlers behind them (all be it not that far) have made the greatest improvements after switching to a new boat?
On the zephyr Van Gieson has been moving on that boat, not that he wasn't before.
(any one else wondering if Manny K. will be on the zephyr or vantage for solo)
On the wainui Worthington made a jump back to the top of the leader boards after changing from the Pahoa
On the Kainalu Mael has been flying, maybe in my opinion the biggest jump after changing boats.
On the hurricane no real crossovers but they still go fast. Notice though that the big wins on a Hurricane this year in Oahu came on flat races. just interesting thats all.
I know there are some young kids in the top 15 or so that are on new boats and making big jumps, but they're young so kind a hard to tell since they're young and getting faster no matter what they're on.
Here's the question, who made the biggest improvements since crossing over to a new boat (top guys/girls only) and is it the boat or the training?

Mad Mooloolaba - The Movie

Yes folks Rambo's been busy again. This video will give you a clue on what to expect for the Hamo Movie. Lot's of HD footage, unique visuals and entertaining mood.

Filmed at the recent Burleigh Regatta on the Gold Coast, this little video is about sharing the "Aloha" and the Chores" and i think typifies what is great about belonging to an outrigger club, with everyone pitching in supporting each other and having a great time. ............. Yep, i can proudly say it is my Club, Mooloolaba ... and just maybe, this is part of the formula for it being successful ON the water as well.

We are indeed ... Mad
What do you think?

Enjoy, Rambo

Huli King

Hi guys,
I'm a Novice OC-1 paddler that have only probably been on a OC-1 less than a dozen times total.
I recently got a OC-1 so I've been able to go out more consistently. I have been out every weekend for the last month. Is it my ineptness or did everyone huli a lot when they first started OC-1? Also, what's the best way to right the canoe from the ama side after a huli? The last few times I've been out, it was choppy and am not quite sure what to do when swells come to the ama side. Is it just the ol' time on the water?
As always, appreciate the help and advice guys!

Thanks!

Aloha,

we would like to thank the paddling community for its support. After years of covering events and crossings in Hawaii, Time Warner has supported us in creating a new TV show dedicated to the sport, lifestyle and culture relating to paddling.

Ocean Paddler TV will premiere this Tuesday, April 22nd at 6:30 PM on OC-16 in Hawaii. The show will air on average 10 times per week and we are planning to start showing the program in SoCal and mainland in the next coming months.
