Big Mahalo to Hypr

My wife and I just spent a couple of weeks in Hawaii (too long to go without paddling). Before we went we checked with every shop and posted here about the possibilities of renting / borrowing OC1s or an OC2. Everyone said "no way". Ian at Hypr read my post, took the time to email me and set us up with an OC2. Jon in Honolulu dropped it off in Lanikai for us. Two weeks of great paddling. Made a good vacation great. Again, a big mahalo to Hypr.

I'm sorry... so sorry

Aloha.

To mangisepik specifically, and any others who feel they are deserving: I'm sorry. Sorry for pissing you off. I took a look at it, and in the end there, that’s all I was really aiming to do. Sorry I found it so amusing that you were getting riled up over what I said on THE INTERNET, that I had to keep pushing it.

I still stand by two things:
1) I really did have advice for vytas524, and I hope he follows it. Go, and get in every boat out there before making a decision. ESPECIALLY if he lives in Hawaii. There should be at least one of just about every model out, if he looks for it. The entire amount of information about any canoe, that's availabe on the internet, is worth two cents compared to actually sitting in/paddling one. I know two guys, same height - tried to recommend boats for each other - now, neither can paddle the others boat because the front iako is positioned too close for one, (his torso is significantly longer than the other guy even though they’re both 6’4”) and the second can’t get in the other boat because the fixed seat is set too far forward for his longer legs. Those are just two of the boats' numerous possible variables. Take into account paddling styles and water conditions, and internet opinions about boats are worth about ONE cent.

2) Anyone can, and will, continue to say anything they want. Even (especially) if you don’t like it.

Remember, I love everybody.

GOTO

Goto and Pedigree

I would like everyone to know, that as a member of the D.A.R. and a longtime Lanikai Baller, I personally vouch for Goto's pedigree and or paddling knowledge/skills (until he disagrees with me). The man is quite possibly the greatest paddler in MPI/PNWORCA history, as well as an obvious comedic genius. So if you want to know about his pedigree you better axe somebody-like yo momma...

the meaningless thread for those with no life

i have created this thread so people like myself with no life, bad pedigree, or are in need of attention can post. if you are too important, then you shouldn't even be reading this. SHAME ON YOU for even looking! feel free to say what ever you like here.

wait, scratch that, no one man sizing or boat vs. boat comparisons allowed. HA!

**even better if no one posts a reply at all because then I will have single handedly proved that I am the only loser here with no life.

New 2007 Kanaka Ikaika Route

Any thoughts or info on the new race and route? I understand that it will be finishing in Waikiki. I guess you can't hold back progress in that its a world class event and all, but its definitely a bummer with the additional miles for those who are on the borderline for completing the race. I could wish that they just organized and held a seperate race for the professional paddlers, and left this race for ther local paddlers.

Wainui Canoe

Does anyone know where Maui Kejldson's wainui boat is being built?

Ultramarathon March 3/4

Any OC-1/2 or ski paddlers looking for a long distance challenge should check out the Watertribe Ultramarathon coming up in March. It's 68 miles on Florida's West Coast from St. Petersburg/Ft. Desoto to Placida. Check it out at www.watertribe.com.

What's better?

Since the forum has slowed down I thought I'd stir the poop a bit.

What do you guys find better cytomax, accelerade, or some other money wasting hydration product?

BTW beer is such an over killed joke. Don't be that guy!
