Aloha. I'm looking for a 50-inch straight shaft Makana Alii Paddle. Specifically a wood blade with carbon backing but open to whatever you all might have for sale. I'm in San Diego but will be out on Oahu in April. Mahalos in advance. Happy Paddling!

Cyclone here in nz so since im not paddling thought i'd whip up a small video of the race. Enjoy. was a fun race with good wind at our back in the 32km coast race. Would love to have an international come over some time.

Does anybody have any more feedback on the Ehukai? How it handles in different conditions? People of different sizes? Comparisons to other boats? Curious.

Wind Guru is red and purple: Extreme wind conditions. Depending on the east swell it produces, this will potentially be a double black diamond course to get to Makapuu, and then around Allen Davis. Once outside Sandy's it is a sleigh ride home. But hold your ass until then. IF we determine that the conditions are extreme, we may create a list of who can and who can't go long course. Be honest with yourself if you have any doubt in your ability to survive a bad situation. We don't want to risk anybody's lives and/or equipment, including our safety team.

Not everyday you get to paddle past Kirrbilly House, Luna Park, Opera House or under the Harbour Bridge. 90+ crews had that opportunity last weekend in The Hawaiian Airlines Sydney Harbour Challenge and what a spectacle it was, even the Weather Gods couldn't dampen the spirits.

Kanaka Ikaika Race #6: NS Air - Maui Jim Waterman's Series #3 is officially changing from the North Shore on Saturday to SUNDAY MARCH 09 - HAWAII KAI - MAGIC ISLAND. Bummer we can't do the race on the north shore due to huge surf, but on an up note, trades will be blowing stiff east, for a good Hawaii Kai run!

Any news on where the race will be this weekend???
