Double bend cabon paddles

Hi guys,

Saw some time ago pictures of a team using the double bend all carbon paddles (or so it looked like that) in an event, so wondering who is making them?

Any help is appreciated,

Cheers Danny

OC2

I plan to purchase an OC2 this fall. Two questions: 1) I run about 200lbs. paddling partner may also run about 200+/- lbs. Is any one OC2 out there better or worst for heavier paddlers? 2)Only other OC2 I ever paddled had front iako attach to the hull forward of the front paddler. I know see many new kanu w/ front iako attached behind front paddler. What's the significance? Thanks in advance.

Repairing Older Thunder Canoe

I've read some articles on how to repair some cracks on one man canoes, but I still have some questions. I've also been told to use resin mixed with rough cut fiberglass to fill in some low spots. But I didn't know if you would still use epoxy anyway. I also then wanted to try to paint the ama, but I don't have a clue to what type of epoxy primer to use as well as the linear polyurethane finish paint.
I don't have a spray gun or a compressor, so I was looking for something in a can. If anyone has any suggestions on how to repair and finish this canoe please help. I really didn't want to take it to a shop, because I wanted to learn on how to repair a canoe for future purposes. This will be more of like a learning event for me.
PLEASE HELP
Thanks

Cable Replacement

Just started a second cable replacement on a 5 year old boat. I was starting to feed the new cable into place when I realized that the cable housing/guide had broken/cracked inside the hull, no easy way to feed the new cable through from front to back. 20/20 hindsight I should have used the old cable as a guide but didn't realize the tube housing had failed. Any recommndations on how to get a new cable fed through or am I sc@#*wed?

leaky boat

My new boat, (l'oracle - Allwave.it) leaks. Where I live (nw France) we don't have acces to the fabricant. So, I must fix it myself.
I puffed it up and sprayed bubbly leak detector all over my boat (don't spray it on the cables), and found the leak in the footwell water drainage systeme. The seals were broken. I filled up the drainage holes with polyester resine (+ micro ballons), then drilled a new hole (smaller in size). The boat remained dry for 2 - 3 outings before it started to leak again. The reparation didn't last, probably because the flexability of the boat and the flexability of the polyester resine plug (with hole in it) are different.
How do you fix this particular leak ?
Thank you for your aide.

What to buy

Hello,

I'm new in here as well as new to the world of OC paddling. I've paddled other boats. Sprint Canoes and Dragonboat, even a little OC-1 and 2.

I'm interested in buying an OC-1 but don't know much about them.

I'm about 190lbs, 5' 8". Looking for a boat that I can go fast in. Probably won't do to much in the way of waves. I live in Ontario and where I would paddle doesn't get anything too big.

Can any one recommend a boat that might suit my needs. I've been in an Albatros and it seems pretty sluggish.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks
Shane

OC-1 covers

Hi! I need a cover for my OC-1, it is 24 feet long so a little longer than most. It is not stored in direct sunlight, and the cover does not need to be form fitting. I know Stitch This makes a very nice Sunbrella cover for about $230, but I was trying to find a less expensive alternative. Are there any other makers out there, or any advice you all can give? Thanks!

Bradley Lightning

Looking for user feedback on the Bradley Lightning. Our club is located in Washington state. We have a Mirage, and we're trying to decide if we want to get another one or a Lightning. Mahalo.

Asymetrical steering paddle

I was thinking about making a 0 degree steering paddle with a thick leading edge tapering back. I'm wondering if this might create lift and assist turns like a boats keel does. Any thoughts? Would it do what I'm explaining or is it a waste of time? I know that it wouldn't be good for paddling but instead for someone that mainly pokes.

Outrigger Paddles

I am writing from the Charity CHASE hospice care for children in the UK. I have a team doing the Great River Race, 22 miles down the River Thames and we are doing it in a dragon boat but are keen to source outrigger paddles.

I understand this is a long shot, but if anybody has any information on how I could find 16 of these in the UK then it would be greatly appreciated. Ideally we would love to hire them but if worse comes to worse will buy them. Alternatively if anyone could send them from abroad we would be happy to pay postage.

I dont know if anyone can help but I write this in hop!

Many thanks
