Does anyone know what going on over in china with the maufacturing of these 2 boats ? A whole group of us placed orders for them and they have failed to show up and it sounds like they are having problems in the factory . Orders were placed at the beginning of this yr and were supposed to be here by july,then august and now who knows when .......and there is no date given . Its kind of disappointing when you dropped your deposit down and now this .

Anyone else waiting as well ? and what have you heard ?

I was looking around at various cable locking systems to lock my Hurricane for storage on a rack, or to secure the canoe when it's on my car roof. There's the "TieYak" for kayaks, the Lasso Security Cable, KayakLock.com, the Lashlock (which looks similar to the KayakLock). Has anybody used any of these? Would they fit a Hurricane? What are people doing to lock their canoes down?

I know there are a bunch of threads out there about these boats but I didn't find any specifically comparing these two. My question is how does the pegasus ride in the flats and in the surf compared to the kaimana...I'm about 6' 1" and 180, I'm looking to buy a pegasus but haven't paddled one,Yes i know not brilliant i have tons of time in a kaimana, but if you could let me know your opinions on these two boats that would help me out. O, and I'm in Southern California so I'm doing most of my paddling in newport harbor-dead flat, and the ocean which usually only has small chop in the afternoon.

I'm flying from the mainland to Maui this weekend and I'm taking a paddle with me. Any advice on how to get it there in one piece? My plan right now is to put it in my paddle bag with an extra padded bag inside, check it with my other luggage and then cross my fingers.

Is it a good idea to fill a canoe with water to flush out any salt build-up. I recently discovered that my canoe had taken on some water,when I had turned it upside down and water came out the puka in the back. Someone suggested that if the boat does leak, wouldn't the salt in the water accumulate within the canoe, eventially making it heavier. So I thought, do people flush their boats out like radiators? Would it harm the interior?

I was wondering if there are any large paddlers out there? and if so what OC-1 are your using? I thinking of getting into paddling and am looking for a canoe that would work for a 6', 275lb male. I see a lot of references for around 200 but I am well over that. Any help and opinions for finding the right canoe will be greatly appreciated.

Also, has anyone had any experience with both puffy and high volume bixler ama's (I don't know the exact name of newer bixler ama), I'm especially interested in effects on maneuverability and quality of construction?

I'm about to get a boat to use in Ontario and am wondering about racking it on my car and storing over the winter.

1 - Racks. What is a good make for carrying an OC1 on my car? I have racks for carrying misc stuff on the roof that could be added to or is getting a specialized rack the way to go?

2 - Winter storage. How should it be stored over the winter if I have no indoor storage available?

Can't wait to hit the water.
