Has anybody gotten any reports back from Karel and his race in Perth? By checking the results, it looks like either equipment or course might have played a part in his finishing time.

Paddling in the South Pacific

Kia orana people,

Just finished a short clip of some footage taken in Rarotonga with an Xacti waterproof handycam rigged to the rear iako. It gives a reasonably good POV, but I must apologise for my less-than-perfect surfing skillz... Anyway here's looking forward to Vaka Eiva next year. (Note: those who have been to Rarotonga will recognise the famous watering hole at the end of the clip).

help finding escort boat and shipping canoe

A Canadian OC2 team is looking for an escort boat for the Pa'a solo on April 19th. We are also looking for contact info for shipping canoe inter-island as we plan on racing KWC, Pa'a and Maui to Molokai. Thanks,

Basic boat question

Am I correct in thinking that a fiberglass boat is more durable and easier to repair than a carbon boat? What is the advantage of a vacuum constructed fiberglass boat over a non-bagged boat?
