kaiclinics.com Maui

kaiclinics.com Kai clinics are operated by Kai Bartlett on Maui. They are regularly scheduled throughout the year for novice to advanced paddlers. They can also be arranged for groups at most times of year when Kai is not away racing by request for one-man or six-man outrigger. Kai is also available to come to your paddle location to present a clinic. We can also assist with accommodations on Maui upon request.

Home swap, home exchange - South west France

Bonjour,

Did some one already use OCpaddler for this purpose ?
If there's a paddler (and his family) planning holidays in europe let's have a look...
I'm living in south west of France on the Atlantic coast, near the spanish border.
Close to the best european surf spots (Biarritz, Guéthary, Mundaka, Hossegor)
1 hour drive to Bordeaux
1/2 hour drive to spain, 1h 1/2 to Pampelona
2 hours to ski resorts during the winter saison (soon!! )
Surrounded by golf resorts (Biarritz(picture attached), Seignosse, Pau, etc...)

Va'a Speed Upwind vs. Downwind

I do not have a va'a, but have been paddling my hurricane without a rudder for a few months now. I find myself very comfortable going into the wind and swell, however I still struggle to control the va'a when the wind and swell are to either side or directly behind me. I feel my control has improved much, yet know I still have much more to learn. I've not yet mastered reading the conditions and pre-empting them before they "take" the canoe.

Pure Canoes

Does anybody know what's going on at Pure Canoes? I tried calling and emailing but, no returns to both... Are they still around? Their Facebook page hasn't been updated either.

Kauai Outrigger Clinics

Kauaioutrigger.com presents up and coming clinics in Kauai

Winter February 2015
Monday Feb 16 – Friday Feb 20

After a successful 2013 trial of the Winter Clinic, and another great turn out in 2014 with great reviews, we’re offering it again in 2015. The flights were cheap, great deals on accommodations, and the water is warm We will paddle mostly in the calmer East and South shores, although we had some fantastic North shore runs as well. We saw whales on every run we did plus dolphins. Check out the videos under the Gallery menu.
