Hawaiki Nui

anyone know if Hawaiki Nui will be streaming live?

MOVEMBER!

Hey OCP gang,

This is pretty much a form letter from the #Movember web site, but you get the point. Don't be afraid to help out. Maybe make an OCP team? Make a canoe club team? Get the word out! If you don't feel like starting your own team you can donate to the Kauai Firefighters group at the link below.

Who doesn't love a well grown moustache? Especially one that's changing the face of men's health.

It's time for Movember and I've made the decision to participate in this charitable movement.

How do you get sand out of your boat?

Not sure how so much sand got in my boat but does anyone know a trick way of getting it out? Maybe like two big handfuls of sand. My boat is an Ehukia.

How to change a bad habit

As with most paddlers, I hope, I have developed bad habits over the years. I have a tendency in one man to lean on my ama. I don't use my legs when I paddle. I know that I hunch and lean forward instead of sitting up straight and tall.

The issue I have is, how do you change these or any known bad habit?

At practice I tell myself each time, focus on sitting up, lean right and drive.

By the end of practice the only thing I am thinking is, suck wind and don't let Mike catch me.

Ocean Paddler Molokai Hoe coverage

I'm very grateful for the streaming of this event so with all due respect, why are we forced to watch what adds up to hours of Lauren and Guy chattering nonstop when the action is on the water? I think of similar televised events like the Tour de France. I'm entranced by the peloton, even if there's no change in the leaders. Closeups of the individuals are what make for exciting viewing, not staring at the commentators in the studio. In fact, except for the very beginning and end of the telecast, we never see the commentators.

Lost ama

I left my ama at the Ala Wai boathouse last Thursday, 10/16/14. It was in a blue bag left on top of some bushes next to a kayak trailer. If you have any information, please call Steve at 341-3483.

Drone Paddling footage

I didn't want to hijack the "Na Wahine Ikaika prize money" thread but that drone footage from Keizo is awesome! I've been playing around w/ less expensive "quad copters" before chunking down a bundle for a nice one that might end up in the drink! Was the pilot/photographer of the drone in a boat in the vicinity of the paddlers? This kind of footage really adds another dimension to a race and paddling video.
