Im putting this out there to all the top paddlers who will be doing the Molokai solo ,we need a story and pictures of you guys like the one of Danny Ching flying the ama on the front of Competitor Magazine for a publication called Paddler Magazine...This magazine reaches paddlers all over north america and we would really like to promote our sport in a major publication like this one...enough of kyaks lets get some real boats in there !!! The editor has shown some interest lets do our part...no joke this is for real .

Over the last year I have been thinking of how we can spread the world about our sport and make OC1 paddling into a sport where one might make a professional living off of it or at very best support his buying paddles boats ect.I found this magazine that gets huge news stand coverage and it is totally about all forms of paddling so I contacted the editor and asked about getting into the magazine with a story on the Molokai Solo and just maybe getting a front page cover photo to push us into the limelight...he answered back with send me the story and the pictures we would be glad to.So now here is the problem,we need a story over and above the race it self and we need some great pictures up close and personal of the best our sport has to offer.So its easy get a photographer and a journalist and away we go,so is there any one out there with these skills who has a passion for the sport of outrigger canoe paddling wants to be published in a major magazine and get paid in the process for their work and help get the exposure this race really needs.

Different places around the world have their leaders in paddling knowledge (design, technique, coaching etc.). Who are the people in your area whose paddling knowledge you particularly admire?

Mooloolaba Master Men's race at the Gold Coast 29 March 2008. Danny Sheard steering and the rear mounted bullet cam takes a hit from a stray Ama and is dislodged just after the start. I also copped an Ama over the shoulder at seat 2 not long after this happened.
This was only the start of the trouble, there were multiple collisions, spin-outs and take-outs all the way out to the river mouth. Unfortunately, both my other Iako Cams malfunctioned and missed all the carnage.

les resultats de la 1ere manche de la coupe de france 2008 de vitesse qui sert également de support pour la sélection des rameurs (ses) pour Sacramento. Les conditions météo n'étaient pas très bonnes : le vent 3/4 arrière gauche tourbillonant force 5 avec des rafales n'a pas favorisé les bons chronos
L'équipe de la Baie des Phoques (qui n'étaient pas remontés ensemble en V6 depuis l'Hawaikinui) rafle les podiums 500m et 1500m face à la sélection des meilleurs rameurs du midi : bonne perf pour un début de saison
Les meilleurs temps de la journée sont au compte des 2 masters de la baie des phoques : Jean Xavier TEMPEZ et Olivier PETILLEON.
Pour la sélection France pour Sacramento en vaa hoe open, Patrick Tauaroa (Ruahatu, toulon) a pris une bonne option, quant à la deuxième place en open , cela reste très ouvert ... à moins que les 2 masters de la baie des phoques ne décident de participer à Sacramento en Open ...
