I know there was a previous topic on the matter, but I was unable to locate it. If someone can point me toward the right thread, I would appreciate it.

In any case, here's my question. What are people doing, if anything, to their hulls for race preparation? Is waxing a hull beneficial or just an aesthetic benefit? I've heard people mention water friction with relation to hulls, but I have minimal knowledge in the area. If anyone could elaborate, I'm all ears.

Should states continue to use traditional Koa canoes which vary in many designs, or convert to using a more modern canoe and use a single design such as a mirage or lightning as the designated racer like world sprints?

Does anyone know where I can get a Makana Alii or Broad Reach paddle? If used, willing to pay retail.

I'm visiting my son in Florida and his Fenn 4 adjustable paddle is STUCK. I need to change angle and length. Gonna be here for two weeks and really want to keep paddling...any tricks? ( I;m afraid to break something on the paddle)

I am in need of a steering blade sooner than later. Would really like a Broad Reach but, have heard some pretty good things about Makana Ali'i but, havent found to much info on them. I would definitely be willing to pay for shipping and even a little extra for a rush delivery. Many races coming up and we are in pretty bad need for another steering blade.
