We're in the process of repainting our OC6s, but need some basic info to make accurate material purchases. All necessary glass and fairing work has been completed, but now we need to address the paint issues. We're going to go with the Duratec vinyl ester primer sealer as it was recommended to us by several people, but before we make our paint purchases I wanted to check with the general paddling community to see if someone can give me some ballpark specs on an older model Bradley canoe.

In an earlier post Mauitim said that Mike Giblin is not working on an updated Hurricane, but on a surf canoe prototype. Is that canoe the Storm? Just wondering if the Storm is intended for surf or flatwater.

Anybody here use a Danuu drop on cover for their OC1?

I'm struggling with a "knit-sock" type cover which takes a lot of time and effort.

I could wait for a custom cover, locally made but who knows when, or I could go pick up a Danuu drop on cover which sounds quick and easy to use.

Somewhere I saw a square, padded ama bag with a handle that looked a lot like the dakine canoe bag. Anybody know where I could get one of these? Thanks for the help.

Patching up a beat up OC1 and I'm almost finished with the prep work before painting (fairing and sanding). In the mean time, I've started working on the hardware. Here are my questions:

• Where is the best place to get cables? tried Lowes...HD, but not the same guage.
• Rudder was bent...anyone have better idea then sticking it in a vice and applying steady pressure

Our club is in need of a dolly and we have seen many made of PVC pipe. Anyone have plans or are willing to explain how these are put together, specifically the axle?

Aloha all!in need of sets of tiger pohoa iakos (hurricane twist in type)or give me a way to convert them!We have 2 hulls and two amas ,will trade both for good canoe!

The paint on my 4 year old, China made, garage kept and covered canoe is developing small bubbles. Does anyone have ideas on what is causing it? Rep is telling me something I am not buying ( that storing a canoe wet will cause this). I figure if it gets worse I will have to sand down and repaint but if I know the cause I will avoid it to not make it worse. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Just wondering ....I note that a lot of paddlers...oc1 and oc6 are using the larger volume paddles...ie Broadreach and Kialoa has their Teva and of course there are the Tahitian paddles. 17"-18" long at the blade and 10- 10 1/2" wide. What difference does that kind of extra volume mean? It makes sense that with a smaller volume paddle one can go through the water faster...easier to get higher stroke rates...but it seems that the higher volume paddles are more efficient when the paddlers are fit enough to swing them.
