we would like to thank all who tuned in to watch our live-feed from the helicopter. Thanks for all the patience and sorry for the confusion when we went off-air to refuel mid-race - People watching it on Ustream.tv got the chat updates, while the Twitter updates on the Molokai website were delayed for some reason.

This was the first time a live feed from a helicopter over the channel was attempted and there will be much room for improvement in the future - for now, we know its possible and that even the start outside of Lono was broadcasted.

Does anyone have or know where to get complete results of all the past channel crossings?

So, after looking into maolivaa.com, I noticed in the pictures that Padling Connection were in a Mirage M2. Is that correct? That should make things very interesting for " canoe of choice " when it comes to Molokai Hoe considering the Bradley is the most visiable canoe out there and plus this was Paddling Connection?s first time doing the channel and first time in that canoe. If not mistaken, this was probably the highest of finish for the Mirage M2, better yet a Mirage, in the past 4 years.

Now its time to talk about the real World Championships, Hawaiki Nui. Team Hawaii sending up a team. From what I gather, Walt Guild leading the charge. Team members??

Just curious which course line teams took yesterday and how it worked.
Waves were hitting broadside and the canoe was pulling hard right.
We went for Kokohead and turned 3miles out of kokohead for diamond head, which was what Sonny Bradley recommended. Besides a huli midchannel the line seemed to be ok

How about other crews? What was the best line? What line did the leaders take?

Time penalty @ MOLO for not having matching jerseys?
Who else thinks this is a waste of time & energy?
Was every single crew reminded of this new rule @ registration? nope
Can you tell my canoe club is gonna be penalized? yep

I know there is live broadcast, but it might go in and out depending on tech. It might be good to also post what we learn here.

I heard wind was starting to pick up yesterday afternoon. We will see.

Start planning your key races for the coming season. I believe the following dates are accurate but plz correct me if they are not -Paa Molo Solo 4/18(escort boat required), MAui-Molokai4/24, Molokai relay 5/2(escort boat required), Kauai World Challenge 5/6-8 (Prize money), Olu Kai Maliko Maui5/15-16(Prize money).

just wanted to let everybody know that the special will air tonight at 7PM on OC-16. You can also catch it for the first time in full HD on Channel 1016 simulcast (that's the HD version of OC-16).
