Hi, anyone out there know whether or not polishing the bottom of canoe and ama will make it travel faster in the water. I have been told alot of paddlers do it.

i just sent in my zephyr to outrigger connections for repair. and the total cost; 450 for 4 cracks. i was wondering if there was a cheaper place to get canoe repairs done?

Does anyone have a canvas for a Bradley Striker that I can borry or rent for this Saturday's race. We are doing the Napali race we have everything lined up but covers. In the process of buying a OC1 Huki but need to install a roof rack on my 2001 Toyota Tacoma. After several calls, I am being told that Toyota didn't make these roof racks for the double cab until 2005. Anyone have any idea what specifically I need to get. Planning on hauling an OC1 Huki from San Fran to Arizona.

I was going to head down Sunday and demo the new boat (Alenuihaha). Does anyone know anything about this boat. They say it's a one month wait, which isn't too bad. I think the price is mid 3k, which isn't too bad either. Any info out there?

What is the reason for one man canoes not having foot straps like skiis? Now days canoes are designed with the paddler sitting lower than ever. Why not add foot straps and lock the paddler in?

I have a 50" Makan Ali`i paddle that I have had for about 6 months. The blade is slightly dinged on the edges and so they are getting rough. The shaft is worn down and I can see water getting into the shaft. It is my only paddle, so I can't let it dry out and fix it till after Molokai. Any ideas on how to repair? I see some forums on the "Man O War" spray, but, idk...
Think I can afford to wait?
