Can anyone give me some ideas on adapting a box trailer to carry OC1's. I was thinking of building a rack that fits into the trailer but wanted to know what spacing for racks and how many canoes it could be designed to carry. If anyone's done this and has some pics, it would be appreciated.

Sorry I hope this isn't too dumb or overly asked question. In buying a Used OC-1, what are red flags to look for? Are sellers usually upfront and honest about pukas, repairs, flaws of their boats? Can you tell by looking and examing the boat if it has repaired damage? Also, what impact do repairs of pukas, cracks and dings have upon the boat's stability? Finally is it better to buy a used Kanu from a dealer versus a private owner?

The hull does not have a USCG identification number .. but does the fact that you sit-on-it still tag you as a criminal if you do not have a PFD? ... the ankle leash makes more sense to a waterman but does the DNR simply see you as a scofflaw? Any examples out East? ... I'd expect the Islands to treat these matters more realistically...

Back into paddling after 12 years looking into buying a new blade for regatta season...anybody have thoughts on mana blades or quickblade??? atm im using a xylo and makana alii for practice...like the xylo better but would like more feedback before i buy my own...mana blades look like a xylo makana kinda clone and quickblade seems more hi-tech...any opinions would be greatly appreciated...thx
