For OC-1, OC-6 and steering blades. Any thoughts?

I'm giving myself a headache. Is pushing the rear end of the ama down good or bad? I would think pushing the ama down as creating drag.

To achieve maximum speed, do I want the rear iako to poke as far down as possible into the ama, or do I want the rear iako to poke as little as possible into the ama?

Or is it some in-between point that you figure out for yourself, somehow?

Looking for plans or dimensions for a single outrigger canoe to build in the cedar strip fashion with epoxy and glass. For new oc paddler who wants to keep the old bones from freezing up. Saw Gary Dierking's sailing canoes and they look sweet, but maybe too heavy to wrestle down to the beach. Appreciate your response. Rich

I'm considering the boat but concerend that I may be on the high end of the weight range. Not expecting to take it into bigger water.

With a few exceptions, my time has been spent in a Force 5's. For general racing how do a Lightning and a Mirage compare? I have some friends looking for a new boat here on the East Coast.

I've heard the Lightning was designed with downwind paddling in mind and it works best with a heavier crew.

I've heard the Mirage is better for general conditions, but is narrow and not very comfortable.

Any of this true? I need the good and the bad. It would be useful if specs for these boats were available someplace.

No axe to grind. Any other brands out there worthy of consideration?

Our spray skirt hoops for one OC-6 have disappeared.

What's a good source for that white plastic material so we can cut our own replacements?
