So basically I'm thinking about getting an OC-1 but not sure what type. I'm pretty new to one man (but yes I have paddled one before) and I did paddle for a regular crew back in the day. So now I'm ready to get back into it. I live on the water in hkai so paddling the marina for sure, and eventually outside (till i get my bearings). Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

I am looking for a Concept II rower modle type D and a newer version Vermont Waterways paddling adapter. If anyone has one they arent using and it's taking up space I might be able to help. If you don't have one available but could advise on how to obtain one please let me know. Otherwise I'll just have to order a new one.

With lighter OC6 in production in various places and rules governing canoe weights changing ie 2012 in Australia are there any other associations also making these changes that you know of?

Anyone know a source for a 4-man, steering blade for bigger surf? The paddle suppliers that I deal w/ don't carry a big wave surfing blade. Thanks.

1) Can an oc-1 be paddled effectively with a two blade "kayak/surfski" stroke/paddle? Why/why not?

2) I've heard cockpit/sit-inside canoes perform well on flat water and poorly in surf/swells. Why is this?

Okay, Christmas is coming..and I'm looking at gadgets. Presently have a Garmin 201. I'm looking to upgrade to heart rate monitor and training software. Have been looking at the 301 (since it's similar to what I'm used to), the 305.. and the NEW 310XT which is supposedly rated to be waterproof to 50m! ("waterproof" having been the problem w/ all of the other Garmin GPS's). Anyone try this yet? It's a bit more expensive than the 305. Supposedly it's a bit better at tracking GPS signal, wireless download to your computer, calorie burn, etc.
