prop cage

Just want to bring this back to the top for discussion. After discussing with a brother in law about the freak accident at the Molokai Hoe this past year for Luke, he had mentioned about a " cage " that go around the engine prop of motor boats. It is used in some part of the mainland to protect some type of sea life there that are getting killed by motor props.

Do you think this type of " cage " could or should be mandated for boat captains to be put around engine props that are involved in change out races?

Don?t know the price for one of these.

FYI: The Future of U.S. Sprint Kayaking Program in Jepordy

Hello Everyone,
This is currently what is happening to the national sprint kayaking program.

Message:
This past week, the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) informed the Olympic family that the 2011 NGB funding budget, where USA Canoe/Kayak derives the majority of its annual revenue, was cut by $5 million less than it had in 2010. With this significant decrease, the USOC had to make difficult decisions with regards to NGB allocation.

Pacifica Downwind Series Race 1 - Video

Inaugural race of the Pacific Downwind Series in NSW put on by a couple of good mates Kevy and Trev featuring OC1, SUP and Ski paddlers battling it out over three races for a free trip to Hawaii from Sponsors GNC Livewell. Kamanu Composites team member Travis Grant flew in from Qld to take on the locals and had some work to do to snatch away the airfare, as did first time SUP paddler Dave Kissane having a year off ski to have some fun. Don't miss the near disaster at Barrenjoey Headland as Top Dog and Dingo Deans do their best to smash their OC1's.
