Need 2 Men for Catalina Sunday Run

Wouldn't you know our luck? Two guys in the last two days have gone down with non-paddling related injuries...

All other channels seem to be turning up empty, so I thought maybe I'd try here? If you or anyone you know might want to join us (San Diego Outrigger) for this Sunday's Catalina Crossing; we would be MOST grateful.

Everything is setup, our guys are all strong & very capable - we just need 2 more able paddlers to join in on the fun. Let me know if you want to get down.

West Oahu Paddlers

I moved to the west side and I'm looking for places to OC1 out of. Where do all the west side paddlers go? Favorite routes?

Lost Kialoa Steering Blade

Aloha - I lost a Kialoa (Foti) Steering blade in the Queen Liliuokalani Race (Men's Iron) this past Saturday. It went overboard approximately 10 minutes into the race. The blade has no Kialoa sticker on the face instead it has a white Barefoot League (footprint with the Hawai'ian islands as the toes). If found please send me a message. I will pay for the postage to mail it back to me on Oahu.

Need Hale? 25k building grants

The group Architecture For Humanity is giving out 25k grants for community sports organizations for building projects. Would fit perfectly for clubs needing funding for a hale. Would have to demonstrate some positive social benefit

Deadline is 2 weeks

Still Confused about Jersey/Uniform

Aloha,

I am still confused-Did anyone get clarification?

The new uniform rule states the following:

"Note: Under the provisions of Molokai Hoe Race Rules, Paragraph A, All crews must be in complete CREW uniform at the START and COMPLETION of the race. Crews not in full uniform will be penalized."

http://www.molokaihoe.com/#top

So I am guessing, same color, design etc, but it still doesn't answer if different team members can have different sleeve lengths.

Sorry to be slow on this issue, maybe someone can enlighten me.

Any tips for viewing the Pailolo Challenge?

Looks like my wife and I have been very lucky with our plans to visit Maui again this year. We'll be in Honokowai in West Maui for the race, and just a short drive from the race start at Flemings :-)

What's the best way to enjoy the start of the race? Should we try to get to Flemings early and maybe see the teams and canoes up close? Or, watch the start from a different vantage point like at Makalua-puna Point?

We've been to Flemings many times, but not during an event like this. Should we expect it to be a crazy scene?

Thanks for any ideas/advice.

Go/Mukulele The Screwing Begins

Go/Mokulele-The screwing begins

The screwing of paddlers begins and we are still a month from Molokai.

From my experience, Go/Mokulele runs behind by hours to Molokai on the 2 to 3 days before Molokai races and in general most flights later in the day

I truly think they don’t have the number of planes for the flights they advertise and sell seats to, so you book and then they change, collapse, or cancel flights, and they don’t give a crap. As time goes on I have seen more paddlers select –Island Air, Pacific Wings, or Private Charters first before Go/Mokulele

Hurricane seat

Hi there, I´m wondering if anybody have developed a new seat for Hurricane.
Seat is a little small and quite low for a stronger stroke looks like it needs a higher back support
I remembered Rambo did a new one for his hurricane some time ago
Any suggestions?
