Huki/ScorpiusXM/Storm

I am a 6'1" 200 lb guy and I have been looking at various OC1. Since I am on the east coast of the US I don't have the ability to test the different manufactures out there and wanted to get some thoughts on the three I have narrowed my list down to. My list is the Huki VX-1, Scorpius XM, and the Storm. In looking at the race results for various races I see the Scorpius XM but I don't see the Storm or the Huki. I realize the Storm is new so I can understand why it has not shown up in the race results. Wondering about how durable it is being so light and if it is beyond my skill level.

Inflatable PFDs - vest vs. belt

I was looking to replace my bulky foam pfd in the near future with something less bulky. There appear to be two options - (manually inflatable) vest or fanny pack pfds. Has anyone had experiences with either of these types of products - while paddling or when you actually had to use it? Any preference? Thanks.

Hurricane OC1 For Sale

My blue Hurricane OC1 is for sale in Marina Del Rey, CA. The hull is intact and not leaking. It has been through a couple of owners, has a couple of dings in the paint but it is in good shape. The Hurricane is well known so I won't put too much information here.

If you would like a picture of the canoe, or to give it a spin in the marina email me first @ damien_fischer@agilent.com

Damien

Legal paddles for OHCRA

Hey guys...maybe a dumb question...but need some help. Regatta season is starting and OHCRA has some rules about paddles......they should have wood shafts and wood blades but the blades can be covered with a protective covering. I looked on the official website to find out if they had a list of approved paddles ...Do " Quick Blades" fall in the legal category..they are carbon covered so i do no know if they have the necessary sliver of wood in the blade to make them legal. I do not think this is a big deal but the penalties seem pretty strong.

School Project

I was told to do a project on products for my business class and to choose a passion so paddling.
I need help with a listing of OC-1 companys the more the better, also a list of hawaiian paddles.
Thank you for your assistance

Ama carriers

Is anyone making ama carriers anymore? My OC-1 normally goes into a Burnham boat sling and I tuck the ama into the car, but that precludes carrying passengers which is probably not optimum.

My other problem is my Xterra has the big stock rack bars.

Need splash guard for a Bradley

During a recent novice race, one of our canoes managed to get its splash guard knocked off. There was minimal hull damage, but we ended up losing the entire splash guard. Anyone know where we can get another one? It's for an older Bradley. Any help would be much appreciated.
